House Democratic Leader reacts to Noe indictment

House Democratic Leader Chris Redfern offered this statement today on the indictment of rare coin dealer Tom Noe. It may be quoted in part or in full:

Tom Noe’s indictment today signals the latest in a long line of Republican scandals that have brought shame and embarrassment to Ohio. 

While Mr. Noe was busy laundering money to President Bush and golfing with Bob Taft, the serious issues facing Ohioans have been ignored.  The GOP has been too busy taking campaign cash from Noe to notice that he is a liar and a thief. 

Today’s indictment is just one more example that the arrogant, out-of-control Republican Party cannot be trusted to lead our state.

Ohio deserves leaders that place the people’s interests ahead of the special interests and that is why we must end the sale of state government and reform how we do business here.
